Four children make a mysterious discovery on their home planet that causes them to become lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. The holographic circus that entertains the young Neel siblings is the same as the Chewbacca family clock in the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special (1978).
Based on the previews, I thought it was going to be terrible. I only watched the first episode and was surprised at how enjoyable it was.
I have high hopes for this one. It might be aimed at kids, but I still enjoy this kind of storytelling as an older person.
The first episode was fun and engaging, paced well and didn’t take itself too seriously. So far this is the second best series after Endor, but that may change after you watch more episodes.
I think this series is a good direction for the Disney/Star Wars combination. "One Hundred Years of Solitude" is one of the biggest TV and broadcast premieres this month.
CIA agent Joe tries to balance his personal and professional life as the spearhead of the agency’s war on terror. Real military advisors helped produce a more authentic execution of weapons handling, house cleaning, positioning, team activities, etc. Cited in Premios Soberano (2024). Sheridan knows how to take us into testosterone-fueled, macho worlds without clichés and, seemingly, without ulterior motives. It is what it is.
His characters are always realistic and he is extremely skilled at casting. But to be great you have to write good roles for women. The writing has to be as good, if not better, than the men’s. Women are smarter and more complex. Beth in Yellowstone (great character and performance), the barrel riders, the only woman in charge of the ranch (the fantastic Jen Landon as Teeter), all great female characters who fit into the world of the story in a natural and unforced way.
Not just “the partner of…” or T&A. She stepped up her game with the excellent character Faith Hill destroyed in “1883”, followed by Dame Mirren in the flop that was “1923”. Now we have Zoe Saldana, doing some of the best work of her career. I totally buy her as the head of the CIA in an open marriage (nice touch). I buy De Oliveira as a broken woman with a burning rage who won’t give up and thank you, thank you, thank you writers/directors/producers for NOT letting her get the best of a fellow soldier with a hundred pounds of extra muscle.
True first of all! I think his character is much more interesting if he’s someone who needs to be knocked out or just plain knocked down before he gives up. Now let’s talk about Jill Wagner or should I say her hair? From cheesy Hallmark stuff to super badass Special Forces? I believe it.
Special mention: Miss Lanier as the evil teenage daughter. I’m looking forward to the narrative arc of this loose canon, as long as they continue to avoid the teen angst cliché.
For centuries, people have called out to the universe looking for answers–in Disney and Pixar's all-new movie "Elio," the universe calls back! The original feature film introduces Elio, an underdog with an active imagination who finds himself inadvertently beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide. Mistakenly identified as Earth's ambassador to the rest of the universe, and completely unprepared for that kind of pressure, Elio must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, survive a series of formidable trials and somehow discover who he is truly meant to be.
A successful song and dance team romantically partners with their sister and works together to save a former commanding general’s failing Vermont tavern.
Unstoppable is the inspiring, true story of Anthony Robles (Jharrel Jerome) who defied all expectations to become a national wrestling champion.
