After months of isolation, Isherwood “Ish” Williams learns that most of the world is affected by a mysterious disease
However, despite his instincts to further isolate himself, Ish leads the charge to create a new civilization based on the novel “Earth Abides” by George R. Stewart..
Mentioned in the Korman Productions TV podcast Deep Dive: Earth Abides on MGM+ Deep Dive Episode 1 “Alone” with Dave and Stacey (2024)
Otherwise, the first episode would have been a decent episode, but not here, which is especially bad considering it’s a global pandemic that has seemingly wiped out civilization. It’s only been three weeks since he’s been out of the game, judging by what he’s said, but it feels like months or even a year, given the way everyone’s talking and acting.
Well, that didn’t last long
Other than that, he’s a total loser. It starts by introducing him as a down-to-earth guy who likes to be alone and live away from civilization.
Maybe some textbook slave traders (probably bad-looking Christians) will show up to establish a new world order, so they’ll have to run from them?
Judging by the cover picture, what are the chances that when he meets her, she will be a strong independent woman who doesn’t need a man, but he might follow her around like a lost puppy. Actually, I don’t understand where the fun is coming from, when there’s almost no one left and there’s no infected threat, like in “28 Days Later.” In this episode, the survivors just complain about being alive.
I won’t watch to find out!
