After years apart, the star-crossed lovers find that every path they take leads back to them
Local rebellious teenager Clotaire falls for his schoolmate Jackie – but gang violence leads him down a darker, more destructive path. Malik Frikah, who plays 17-year-old Clotaire in this film, was a world champion breakdancer when he was 10.

One of the characters wears a Rolex Daytona Ceramic in the 1990s, but the watch was only released in 2016. The film is very long and quite uneven between its first part, when the characters are teenagers, and the second part, ten years later.
The acting is very good
The young actors are fresh and genuine. Adele and François are the best.
Mostly British and American music, but so grounded in the era
Alain Chabat is a great teddy bear and, as always, you want to punch Benoit Poolvoorde. The musical background really sets the tone for the 80s in a small French industrial town.
You finish the film with a smile on your face
It’s not the best film of the year, but a beautiful story of crazy and passionate love. Despite its unevenness, you follow Clotaire and Jackie all the way through.
